Week 1 | Day 5
Do Not Worry
Read: Matthew 6:25–33
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life...Can any one of you, by worrying, add a single hour to your life?” (v. 25 & 27)
It can seem very normal and even wise to worry about some things, but Jesus is very clear here: Do Not Worry. Our Father has you covered in every way. When we worry, we believe that somehow, it will help us avoid pain, suffering or lack but really all it does is steal our peace and stunt our faith in God.
Worrying keeps our eyes on ourselves and our problems. When our eyes are kept on the Lord and His Kingdom, peace fills our heart and we find grace to trust Him in our most challenging times. He is good.
Prayer Focus:
In what areas of life do you worry the most? What does it mean to seek the Kingdom of God first? Write out a prayer to God, releasing worry and asking for faith to trust Him more.
