Obedience
Read: 1 Samuel 15
“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord?
To obey is better than sacrifice.”
Saul thought he could impress God with his sacrifice. The Lord looks at the heart. As much as He loves the cheerful giver, He desires that we first walk in faithful, even wild obedience.
We shouldn’t give a dime more than He’s asked us to, but we should give every single thing He has asked us to. Obedience is worship given to our worthy and extraordinarily generous Father.
